The aim of this course is to train delegates in the correct use of AED machines as part of the CPR process. Delegates will learn how to assess incidents, how to record information and how to handover to the emergency services, as well a show to correctly and safely use the AED machines.

The First Aid Automated External Defibrillators course covers the following:

  • Recap of personal safety
  • Assessing the incident and the patient
  • DRABC check and sending for help
  • Defibrillation (recognition of heart rhythms)
  • CPR and how to use AED on a casualty
  • Guidelines for using a defibrillator
  • Recording information
  • Handing over to the emergency services

This course is designed for any individual in a workplace who requires training in the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) machine.


This course is delivered through a combination of theory and practical exercises.


This course can be delivered on your premises or at a location suitable to you.


AED certificate, valid for 1 year

Delegates must be physically fit and able to carry out CPR.
