What are Skills Bootcamps?

Skills Bootcamps are fully funded, flexible courses of up to 16 weeks, giving adults the opportunity to build up sector-specific skills and fast-track to an interview with an employer, or to progress in their current role as part of the Government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee, helping everyone gain skills for life.

As part of the 2019 manifesto commitment to invest £3bn through the National Skills Fund, the DfE’s Skills Bootcamps aim to help out-of-work adults learn valuable new skills or employed individuals to further enhance their skills and productivity, to better respond to a rapidly evolving labour market.

Entry Requirements

Skills Bootcamps are open to adults aged 19 and over who are either:

  • employed
  • self-employed
  • recently unemployed within the last 12 months
  • returning to work after a break

Employers, Employed and Self-Employed

If you are a business looking to up-skill your current employees, or a employed or self-employed construction worker, then our Skills Bootcamps are ideal, enabling you/your employees to develop skills you/they need, and you/your business to stay ahead of the curve.

We offer the following Skills Bootcamp in Construction training:

To be eligible to access funding, you/your staff member should be aged 19 or over.

Unemployed

We are delivering a range fully funded Construction trade training courses through DfE Skills Bootcamps. These fully comprehensive 4-week courses a choice of:

To be eligible to access funding, you should live in the East Midlands or South Yorkshire areas or be able to get to our centres in Derby, Doncaster, Nottingham, Rotherham, Sheffield, or Worksop. You will also need to be able to commit to 4 weeks of learning and travel and be aged 19 or over.
